{"id":409,"date":"2014-09-04T01:20:15","date_gmt":"2014-09-04T06:20:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/talkingwithjulia.com\/?p=409"},"modified":"2014-09-04T01:30:44","modified_gmt":"2014-09-04T06:30:44","slug":"safely-arrived","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/talkingwithjulia.com\/?p=409","title":{"rendered":"Safely Arrived"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday morning, we expected to take a quick shuttle to the airport with our many bags.\u00a0 But, the shuttle driver said, &#8220;There&#8217;s been a terrible accident on the road to the airport, and that road is closed.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll be taking the train.\u00a0 Get in the van.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>We loaded our bags and took our seats.\u00a0 Then a lady came to the van and sat in the front seat.\u00a0 She uses this shuttle everyday to go to work at the airport.\u00a0 She said she would help us with the train.\u00a0 She used her own card to get us quickly through the turnstile, thus paying for our fare.\u00a0 She carried some of the bags, and led the way.\u00a0 At one escalator, I didn&#8217;t know how I would get on while balancing all my bags.\u00a0 Another man came up and offered to take my bag.\u00a0 I was a bit concerned, since that bag held my passport, wallet, and computer, money, food and medication, all the irreplaceable stuff.\u00a0 Hesitating only a moment, I gave him my bag, and off we went.\u00a0 At the top, he gave it back to me, all intact.\u00a0 Anyone who has traveled anywhere knows how foolish this would have sounded to a policeman, if the man had taken my bag and run.\u00a0 But such was the situation that I trusted the man, and he proved trustworthy.\u00a0 We crammed onto the train, and got to the airport.\u00a0 Then the lady walked us all the way to our gate, carrying some of our luggage for us.\u00a0 She smiled and said it was her workout for the morning.\u00a0 She did all this wearing high heeled shoes.<\/p>\n<p>We got to our gate and waited for the plane to Toronto. When we arrived in Toronto, there was supposed to be only a short time between flights, so we hurried to the next gate, only to learn that then next flight was delayed.\u00a0 So we ate lunch in the Toronto airport.\u00a0 We ordered two hamburgers, and one order of sweet potato fries.\u00a0 I paid with a\u00a0 $50.00 bill.
