{"id":278,"date":"2012-12-04T18:09:13","date_gmt":"2012-12-05T00:09:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/talkingwithjulia.com\/?p=278"},"modified":"2012-12-04T18:09:13","modified_gmt":"2012-12-05T00:09:13","slug":"advent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/talkingwithjulia.com\/?p=278","title":{"rendered":"Advent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now we are in the season of Advent, a time of repentance and preparation for the Second Coming of Christ.\u00a0 We are also preparing for the celebration of the first coming of Christ into our world.\u00a0 Most people in America probably are not aware of Advent, since it is not emphasized as much as it once was, and since we are not a homogenous society.\u00a0 But for liturgical people, it is a time of deep reflection, and sober consideration of life.\u00a0 This year, with all the attention given to the Mayan calendar, maybe more people are thinking about the end of the world, and maybe some of those people will wonder about spiritual life.\u00a0 It&#8217;s certainly difficult in America to think about spiritual life in the midst of our materialist culture.<\/p>\n<p>It is a well attested fact that Jesus Christ of Nazareth was born, lived and died in Israel.\u00a0 No one can dispute this fact.\u00a0 It is also well attested that Jesus rose from the dead, and ascended to heaven.\u00a0 He claimed to be God.\u00a0 Christians believe he is God.
