{"id":273,"date":"2012-12-04T17:35:24","date_gmt":"2012-12-04T23:35:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/talkingwithjulia.com\/?p=273"},"modified":"2012-12-04T17:35:24","modified_gmt":"2012-12-04T23:35:24","slug":"december","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/talkingwithjulia.com\/?p=273","title":{"rendered":"December"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In contrast to the Thanksgiving weekend, it is quite warm now.\u00a0 On Sunday, I went outside in just a light jacket, and planted some chrysanthemums which I had bought in October.\u00a0 I had thought it was too late to put them in the ground, but they were still green, and the weather was so warm, I planted them.\u00a0 I also cut back the asparagus ferns, weeded the bed, and put some compost on the bed.\u00a0 I had been waiting for the ferns to turn brown, and the last heavy frost did that.\u00a0 Even so, there were a few green ones still present.\u00a0 The plants are confused I think.\u00a0 I have found tiny shoots of bulbs already coming up.\u00a0 The seeds in the straw I used for mulch have come up as green grass, I think alfalfa.\u00a0 I&#8217;m letting it grow, and will tun it under in the spring.\u00a0 The strawberry plants are still green, as are the various ferns near the house.\u00a0 I cut back the lavender plant, but it has all reappeared.
